THE INDIESTRY

"The world is your stage.
The Indiestry is your spotlight.”

The Indiestry is a three-tier independent artistry movement.  Tier one: The Indiestry Magazine, an online quarterly. Tier two: The Indie Daily, a daily blog.  Tier three: Indie 4 the Community, the nonprofit component. For more about The Indiestry, go to www.theindiestry.com.

Our first issue
, which focused on independent music, went live on December 21, 2009. We have received accolades from the featured artists and our readers for our hard work and dedication to creating a high-quality magazine.

We (The Indiestry Execs) met while studying journalism at the Pennsylvania State University. While in college, we played an integral role in relaunching The Drum newsletter, a Penn State Black Caucus initiative.  Since our college years, we have worked at a number of online and print publications, such as Vibe, The Afro-American newspapers , and Overhaul & Maintenance magazine--just to name a few. We also have experience in social and hip-hop commentary, creative writing, science journalism, spoken word, theater and film.

The next issue (Spring 2010) of The Indiestry Magazine will launch Monday, March 22, 2010. The theme for this issue is "Writer's Block," which will include self-published authors, spoken word poets, and indie screenwriters. Those interested in being featured in the spring 2010 issue of The Indiestry Magazine should send an email to execs@theindiestry.com.
